Urban and Rural Development
Africa has undergone extremely rapid urbanisation over the last 50 years – faster than any other continent in the world. Today, approximately 20% of the world’s 100 fastest growing cities are in Africa. This high urban growth is accompanied by major urban challenges to address on our way to sustainable urban development combining economic growth and social equity, through considerations of traffic and transport, storm water and waste management.
